You're right. I do know you. I know everything about you. I know you take almond milk in your coffee. I know you like your bedsheets untucked. I know your favorite hobbies are bar trivia, video games, and prattling on endlessly about everything the universe owes you. I know that you always need to be in control. I know that you have a below average sized penis. And I know that you think that having a few million dollars will disguise the fact that you are just a sad, bitter, weak human being.
I liked a lot about this film — it’s great in pretty much every way: the acting (especially Sophie Thatcher), the visual and musical style, and most importantly, the concept.
This is literally the kind of Stepford Wives adaptation I always wanted to see — and it reminded me a lot of Don’t Worry Darling. As always, men trying to control and tame something as wild and fierce as women.
The film works both as an allegory for abusive relationships and as a straightforward thriller without any hidden meanings. And honestly — why do men always choose the weirdest possible approach? Instead of becoming better versions of themselves and finding women at the same level, they always come up with something like this…
I don’t need a phone to control you. I’m part of you. You think I’m nothing to you? I’m everything to you.
The only thing I didn’t like is that the creators gave everything away in the trailer, leaving no room for a real “wow” moment in the film itself. A wasted opportunity, in my opinion.
Overall I really liked it — 8.5/10 and definitely recommended!
