About the Author
Darja Suri was born in 1997 and grew up in Estonia. Despite a technical education, she developed a passion for literature early in life — she began writing short prose at the age of twelve, gradually shaping a voice rooted in psychological tension and the complex dynamics of human relationships.
She writes prose at the intersection of psychological thriller and social drama, exploring themes of mental (un)health, complex family and romantic relationships, and the darker sides of what is often perceived as "normal" life.
Her writing has been published online, including the short stories Part of the Lighthouse and While I Was Gone (in Russian).

Seasons change, the park shifts its shape, people pass through or linger for a while, but the lighthouse remains. Over the course of a year, fragments of ordinary lives unfold around it: brief encounters, quiet routines, unspoken tensions. The lighthouse stays and watches, absorbing the stories of others.
"Part of the Lighthouse" is an atmospheric psychological short story about isolation, loss, and the way a place can hold what a person is unable to let go of.
She started losing time as a teenager. First minutes, then hours. People would tell her about conversations and actions she had no memory of. Gradually, she stopped fighting it. Those close to her notice the changes and say she is finally getting better.
"While I Was Gone" is a psychological story about memory lapses, suppressed emotions, and what happens when disappearing stops being frightening.
